Mended Little Hearts provides hope and support to children, families, and caregivers impacted by congenital heart defects in order to extend and improve quality of life.
 Mended Little Hearts is a support program for parents of children with heart defects and heart disease. We are dedicated to inspiring hope in those who care for the littlest heart patients of all. We offer resources and a caring support network as families find answers and move forward to find healing and hope.

Seems like we just finished popping the fireworks and yet the month of January is almost over! That and we are already approaching the fourth Tuesday of the month which would ordinarily mean it's time for an MLH meeting. However, we've decided to hold off on having a meeting in January because we are slated to have a Valentine's Party on February 7th and it would be more appropriate to kick off the year during CHD Awareness Week. Here are a few other events that are in the works for 2012:
February 7th (First Tuesday) 6:30 PM - Valentine's Party/CHD Awareness - Santa Rosa location
March 27th (Fourth Tuesday) 6:30 PM - Meet & Greet Meeting/CPR Training - John Hornbeak (Med Center) location
April 14th (Second Saturday) Time TBA - San Antonio Zoo outing
May (date, time, and location pending) - Photo shoot for 2013 calendar

Event at Morgan's Wonderland |

The MLHofSA chapter had a fantastic time at Morgan's Wonderland on Sat. May 28th, in spite of the heat! Check out some pictures, including those of the Galvanik family who we bid adieu as they are moving to the Dallas area. Thanks to all who came and especially those who played a part in putting this event together. Tom and his wife, Lucy are CHD parents to baby Barbara and were featured on Ellen. Tom shares our passion for raising awareness and is committed to raising funds for research.

We must join together to urge our members of congress to provide FY 2012 funding to conduct surveillance of CHD at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and provide resources for research on CHD at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI).
